Magic Wallrush is an art experiment organized by a group (of the same name) of 10-odd young Kolkata-dwellers, through street exhibitions. On a "One Day Sunday" they take their art work outside on the road, invite a few musician friends to play their acoustic sets and have fun reading the comments on their "Every One's A Critic" feedback scrapbook. From an art experiment to a city-cult phenomenon, the spell is getting stronger. Over a short period of time Magic Wallrush has become an underground movement to spread the 'feeling' associated with their view of life, through alternative art, self expression and a revised culture.
After having won the love and support of people they now have more interesting plans for their next conquest with a wider and exciting range of exhibits. The date is set for the 1st of November, 2009.
Levi’s® has now come together with Magic Wallrush – the Hippies on the streets, with a brush, for a cause, with love. Art has always been a means for free-thinking individuals to express their own individuality, and unbutton their true selves. Levi's® has always sought to celebrate this uniqueness, which is why it’s been loved and celebrated by the likes of Jackson Pollock, Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol, Damien Hirst, Basquiat, and Roy Lichtenstein.
The Levi's® association with Magic Wallrush is an extension of their commitment to self-expression, and to young people who have the courage to live an Unbuttoned life. Through this association, we hope to provide this group of young, passionate and driven individuals a larger platform for their work.
